The Den hosted a real pitchers' duel.

The Detroit Thunderbirds topped the Traverse City Bears, 2-0, in USA action at The Den. The standout performance belonged to Detroit pitcher and Adrian, Michigan, native Terry Noble. Noble, now 2-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Getting the save was Val Imbert, his 6th.

Detroit used the timely hitting of Trace Brunel to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Thunderbirds on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Noble.

The win has Detroit at 10-19.
