Detroit got a terrific game from first baseman Carlos Franco. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Traverse City, 5-4. Franco hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Traverse City reliever Ben Lee picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Didier Petit took the loss. Alonso Delgado collected save number 5.

Earl Foote hit a 2-run home run off Didier Petit in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Bears ahead, 5-3. In addition to the homer, Foote had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Detroit manager Michael Vallery.

The losing streak for Detroit has now reached 4 games.
