|
Hamilton right fielder Wilson Meléndez made his presence felt in the 6-3 Mounties triumph over the Kingston Comets. Meléndez went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Pablo Ojeda earned the win for Hamilton. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 2-1. The Mounties, at 15-18, sit in 5th place in the North of the Border.
Hamilton relied on the hitting of Herb Schurman to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Mounties on top, 2-0. For the game, Schurman had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Meléndez said.
