Rodgers Leads Caribou to Win
|
The Thunder Bay Caribou extended their winning streak.
The 6-4 Thunder Bay win over Milwaukee was due largely to Joe Rodgers. The Caribou third baseman went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Thunder Bay reliever Brian Walsh picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Didier Charles was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was Dorian May, his 2nd.
With Thunder Bay trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the third, Rodgers hit a sinker from Didier Charles for a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Caribou ahead, 5-3.
Rodgers told a Thunder Bay Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
With the win, Thunder Bay upped its record to 23-15.
