Pivotal Game 5 Goes to Host Caribou, 9-3
Game 5 was big. So was Yakumo Hasegawa.

In leading Thunder Bay to a crucial 9-3 victory over the Windsor Vigilantes at Caribou Field today, the Thunder Bay starter rose to the occasion, tossing 5 good innings. Hasegawa threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball as the Caribou defended their home field to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 League Championship.

Though he did not get the decision, Hasegawa did all he could to keep his team close, twirling a shutout through 5 innings, until Thunder Bay eventually rallied past the Vigilantes.

After the game, Hasegawa refused to speak to a reporter for the Thunder Bay Gazette. "You've accused me of throwing teammates under the bus," he said. "So, excuse me if I decline to answer your questions."

Game 6 is scheduled for Wednesday at Justice Field in Windsor.
