Comets Edge Past Vigilantes, 4-3
|
The Kingston Comets took Windsor pitcher Roger Horne's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Comet Field. The final score had Kingston getting past the Vigilantes, 4-3. Horne went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 6. Kingston reliever Luis Deleón picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Ken Shannon took the loss. The losing streak for Windsor has now reached 8 games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Kingston first baseman Dennis Chin, facing Jaime Torres, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Comets the 4-3 win.
Kingston manager Kurt Peterson called it "a darn good win."
