Almost There: Traverse City On Cusp of LC Triumph After 4-3 Win

The Traverse City Bears moved to within one game of the GLBL Championship, downing the visiting Chicago Architects at The Den by a score of 4-3. Bears left-hander Jerry Moore had a strong outing in which he threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Bears a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship.
Sean Lane dealt the Architects a blow in the bottom of the seventh. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Traverse City leading 3-2, Lane, who finished 4th in the USA in wins above replacement with 5.4 in 2051, hit a 2-0 cutter for a run-scoring double.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Traverse City manager Jim Burns.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Den in Traverse City.
