Gibbs Hits 2 home runs in Comets Win
|
The Kingston Comets topped the Thunder Bay Caribou, 6-5, with catcher Marty Gibbs playing a big role. Gibbs was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for the Comets in the win. Kingston reliever Quincy Cooper picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Ernest Ferguson absorbed the loss. Kingston is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Gibbs had a key at-bat for Kingston early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and gave Kingston an early 3-0 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Gibbs told the Kingston Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
