Vigilantes Prevail, 6-4, Over Kingston
|
The Windsor Vigilantes defeated the Kingston Comets, 6-4, at Comet Field today. Leading the charge for Windsor was catcher John Dyke. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Cliff Simpson earned the win for Windsor. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 5-4. Rubén Perguero converted his 1st save in 1 tries.
Dyke had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-0 fastball from Quincy Cooper, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Vigilantes a 6-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Dyke.
Dyke told a Windsor Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The victory gives Windsor a record of 36-28.
