Paolillo Smacks 3 Homers in 7-5 Eagles Win
|
The Milwaukee Eagles knocked off the Toledo Neptunes, 7-5, at Ballpark of Toledo. Giovanny Paolillo was a big reason Milwaukee won. The third baseman hit 3 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored three times. Milwaukee reliever Eduardo Gómez picked up the win to move to 5-2. John Cole suffered the loss. Ben Crawford converted his 24th save in 26 tries.
Paolillo had a timely hit for Milwaukee in the top of the eighth. With Toledo trailing 5-4, he turned a 2-1 cutter into a 3-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season, making it 7-5, Milwaukee.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Paolillo.
The first-place Eagles, at 60-40, now lead their division by 3½ games.
