Comets Collect 3-1 Win Over Waveriders
|
The Kingston Comets had to overcome a good performance from Owen Sound pitcher Walt Connel to claim a 3-1 win at Waveriders Ballpark. Connel went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. Ralph Lapthorne converted his 10th save in 12 tries. The win makes Kingston 51-63.
Kingston needed the clutch hitting of Walker Dunse to notch the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Comets on top, 3-1. For the game, Dunse had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Dunse told the Kingston Daily.
