Maples Earn Win with Late Rally
|
Toronto and Thunder Bay duked it out and the Maples came out victorious.
The Toronto Maples wiggled past the Thunder Bay Caribou, 4-3, at Ontario Ballpark. The win was highlighted by the performance of Toronto pitcher Steffen Brooks. Toronto pitcher Caleb Wilson got the win, upping his record to 3-1. Don Li got the loss.
The decisive blow was delivered by David Kenney in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 36-year old right-handed pitcher Don Li to win the game for Toronto. The home crowd went nuts.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Kenney said in his postgame press conference.
The third-place Maples have won 6 in a row.
