Bears Top Neptunes to Even Record
|
Traverse City rode a fine outing from starter Ward Covey to victory over the Toledo Neptunes at The Den. The final score was 6-1. With the victory, the Bears upped their record to 62-62.
The Bears got a big at-bat from right fielder David Blue. For the game, Blue went 2-4 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 11th double of the season gave Traverse City a 2-1 lead.
Blue called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
