Thunderbirds Collect 7-6 Win Over Eagles
|
The Detroit Thunderbirds beat the Milwaukee Eagles, 7-6, in 10 innings, in part because of second baseman Trace Brunel. He went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. Detroit has now won 3 in a row.
Detroit needed the clutch hitting of George Forrest to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Thunderbirds on top, 7-6. For the game, Forrest had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Milwaukee manager Mike Trigwell. "The effort was great."
