Comets Win Squeaker, 5-4, Over Caribou
|
The Comets grabbed a win, 5-4, at Comet Field, overcoming a fine effort from Thunder Bay pitcher Ernest Ferguson. Ferguson went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Kingston reliever Harvey Sokhakian picked up the win, raising his record to 2-3. Travis Baldwin was tagged with the loss. The Caribou, now 61-72, have lost 4 in a row.
Dennis Chin was the walk-off hero for Kingston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Comets pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The fans went nuts at the end," Chin said.
