Caribou Stymie Kingston, Take 8-1 Win
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Thunder Bay Caribou and Kingston Comets.
Kingston had no answer for Thunder Bay Caribou starter Yakumo Hasegawa, who flummoxed Comets hitters as the Caribou cruised to victory, 8-1. With the win, Thunder Bay pushed its record to 70-64.
Armando Hernández, the 2044 Lake Huron Rookie Award winner , had a direct impact on the outcome. Hernández contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Thunder Bay up, 1-0.
"We'll savor this win," Hernández told the Thunder Bay Gazette, "then get ready for the next game."
