Vigilantes Take Down Maples, 6-5
|
The Windsor Vigilantes weathered a fine game by Toronto center fielder Rich Tyler to upend the Maples, 6-5, at Justice Field. Tyler went 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 times. Toronto has now lost 4 consecutive games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Windsor first baseman Craig Hargrove, facing Orlando Méndez, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Vigilantes the 6-5 win.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Toronto manager Linus Riverboat. "But we decided not to take it."
