Seafarers Curtis Gone for Year Saturday, August 8th , 2048 The doctors have spoken and Landon Curtis of the Prince Edward Island Seafarers didn't like what he heard. The 18-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Curtis sustained his season-ending injury during the Manistique Night Train game yesterday at Express Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Prince Edward Island medical staff reported Curtis had a torn back muscle and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5 months. So far this season, in 15 relief appearances Curtis has compiled an ERA of 6.64. He has pitched 20.1 innings, struck out 12, walked 10 and registered 1 save. |
