Woodruff Swats 3 HR Against Burlington Sunday, April 25th , 2049 Sarnia Canadians bombardier Jack Woodruff set his sights on the stands and blasted three balls over the fence as his club took a 9-3 win over the Burlington Jack Rabbits today. "I guess you could say I was a good guesser today, especially on the last one," Woodruff told writers in the postgame press room. "I was ahead in the count, so I gambled that I'd get a certain pitch, and got all of it." For the game, the Sarnia third baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 6, and scored 3 runs. Jack Woodruff grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Frank Vance in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Alain Girard in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Larry Sabin in the 8th. Thus far this season in 18 games Woodruff is batting .310 with 5 home runs, 14 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has 13 hits in 42 at-bats. |
