CF Petit Given 4-Game Suspension Sunday, June 25th , 2051 There was a hostile encounter between Luo-lang Petit and the men in blue in yesterday's Manistique-Escanaba game. The Night Train center fielder was tossed for arguing a called third strike. Actually he did a little more than just complain about the call -- he got in the umpire's face and had to be restrained by his manager. "I don't think I did anything to deserve to be thrown out of the game in the first place, never mind be suspended," Petit stated. "That's unbelievable. I still don't know why he threw me out of the game. I didn't charge over there until after he gave me the heave-ho." The league office did not agree with his assessment of the confrontation and suspended Petit for 4 games. For the season, Petit is hitting .288, batted in 21 runs with 11 home runs and 30 runs scored. |
