Mounties Win at Birmingham, 5-3
|
Montreal and Birmingham took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Mounties designated hitter Ángel Aguilera put his stamp on his team's 5-3 win over the Birmingham Bulls. Aguilera went 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Montreal in the contest. At 58-79, Montreal is in third place in the Connie Mack League Eastern Division.
Aguilera had a timely hit for Montreal in the top of the seventh. With Montreal trailing 3-1, he turned a 2-1 changeup into a grand slam home run. It was his 25th home run of the season, making it 5-3, Montreal.
Aguilera attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
