Heat Improve to 76-65 with 4-3 Win
|
The San Antonio Vaqueros got a sterling performance from pitcher Paul Mays, but the Hattiesburg Heat still prevailed, 4-3. Mays threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. With the win, Hattiesburg raised its record to 76-65.
Hattiesburg used a clutch hit from José Hernández to get the win. The left fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Heat ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Hernández told the Hattiesburg Times. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
