Big 3-HR Day for Ning
Monday, April 11th , 2078
Lien-ying Ning went on an explosive hitting spree against the Montreal Mounties at Skywind Park today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Toronto Stags to the 16-1 win.
The first baseman finished 3-for-4 with 4 runs scored and 6 runs batted in.
"It was just one of those days," Ning said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball."
Montreal skipper Peyton Komrska said Ning was "locked-in."
"We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him."
Lien-ying Ning hit a two-run home run off Sherman Gray in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off José Colón in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Jesús Ortíz in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th.
This season Ning is hitting .269 with 7 hits, 7 home runs, 11 RBIs, scored 8 runs and played in 7 games.
