Toronto-Montreal Brawl, Martínez and Romero Suspended Tuesday, April 12th , 2078 If there wasn't a history between Pablo Martínez of Toronto and José Romero of Montreal, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 9 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Martínez said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." This season Martínez is batting .259 with 7 hits, 1 home run, 4 RBIs, .382 OBP and has scored 3 runs. This year Romero has made 5 relief appearances with no saves. In 5.1 innings, he has permitted 4 hits, fanned 6 hitters and recorded no wins and no losses with a 1.69 ERA. |
