Monday, July 24th, 2062
At the age of 26, Mark Gates might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Las Vegas left fielder put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .500 batting average. For his efforts Gates collected the John McGraw League Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 11 hits in 22 at-bats, 4 home runs and 10 RBIs last week in 6 games.
For the season, Gates is hitting at a .241 clip with 25 home runs, 61 RBIs and has scored 54 runs. He has 72 hits, 41 walks and a .336 on-base percentage.
