Sanders's 34-Game Hit Streak Ends Monday, September 19th , 2078 After 34 games, Will Sanders had his hitting streak ended abruptly today by the Pine Bluff Lions at Hattiesburg Grounds. The Hattiesburg Heat right fielder failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats, bringing his tenure in the national spotlight to a halt. Despite the tough day at the plate, Sanders seemed unconcerned after the game, talking instead about the Heat taking a 3-1 victory from the Lions. "It was good while it lasted," Sanders said. "If it had to end, I'm glad it ended with a victory." So far this season Sanders has hit .370 with 2 home runs, 31 RBIs and scored 29 times. |
