5 Hits for Yeti Gutiérrez
Monday, September 19th , 2078
In a career performance, St. Petersburg Yeti center fielder Raúl Gutiérrez sparkled with the bat today at Crane Grounds.
Powering his way to a 5-for-5 line at the plate, Gutiérrez led the Yeti to a 11-3 win over the Crane Dragons. Gutiérrez was in high spirits in the clubhouse after the game, joking with reporters that the big game had left him "winded."
"Oh sure, 5 hits sounds great but think about how much more baserunning you have to do," he said with a smile. "Next time, I'm just going to take 5 walks."
Raúl Gutiérrez singled in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Wade Clarke in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
This year Gutiérrez is batting .301 with 3 home runs. He has scored 44 runs and driven in 30.
