Maynard Lifts Drive to 14-9 Triumph
|
Ian Maynard had a hand in Greenville defeating Asheville by the score of 14-9. Maynard went 4 for 4 at the plate, scoring 2 times and driving in 5 runs. The winner in relief was Chris Lorio. He is now 1-0. The left-hander allowed 5 runs on 7 hits in 3 innings. Nate Gamble recorded the save for Greenville, his 1st of the season.
Greenville used a well-timed hit by Sergio Prieto to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Drive ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Hunter Mense.
Asheville drops to 0-3.
