Augusta left fielder Chris Pearson contributed to his team's 9-1 win over the Indianapolis Drillers. Pearson went 1 for 3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the GreenJackets. Mike DiVita collected save number 1. The loss has the Drillers at 4-2.

There was more than one reason the GreenJackets beat the Drillers, but Pearson's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 4-0 lead when he hit a grand slam home run.

"We'll savor this win," Pearson told the Augusta Bulletin, "then get ready for the next game."
