The Kannapolis Intimidators picked up a win at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, knocking off the Delmarva Shorebirds, 7-2. Starting pitcher Josh Boydston played a key role in the triumph. Boydston went 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 1, and struck out 14. His record improves to 8-4. The Intimidators improve their record to 45-30 with the win over Delmarva.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Intimidators had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the second, when center fielder Eli Van der Ploeg hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Chris Brinson and made the score 2-0, Intimidators. Van der Ploeg went 1 for 4 with a walk.

Boydston called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
