The Greensboro Grasshoppers got a sterling performance from first baseman Reinaldo Gundar, but the Greenville Drive still prevailed, 4-2. Gundar was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times. Jeff Spillane closed the game out for Greenville, earning his 9th save. The win for the Drive lifted their record to 52-37.

Mike Wilson hit a run-scoring double off Joe Roberts in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Drive in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Wilson had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
