Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Lexington Legends and Indianapolis Drillers.

A good performance from right fielder J.D. Strickland helped the Lexington Legends defeat the Indianapolis Drillers, 6-4. Strickland went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Legends. Nate Reed was credited with the save for Lexington, his 5th of the season.

Chris Trammell, the 23-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Trammell contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put Lexington up, 3-0.

In postgame comments to the Lexington Chronicle, Trammell said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

At 59-48, the Legends are currently 5th in the Southern Division.
