The Greensboro Grasshoppers topped the Columbia Fireflies, 6-3, in South Atlantic League action at NewBridge Bank Park. The standout performance belonged to Greensboro pitcher and Oceanside, California, native Wilfredo Triguero. Triguero picked up the win for Greensboro, going 6 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 12-5. Théo Delahaye earned the save, his 25th, for the Grasshoppers.

Joe Mill had an important at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fourth, when he hit a bases-clearing double. His 30th double of the season put Greensboro on top, 6-2.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Triguero.

At 75-42, Greensboro is in first place in the Northern Division.
