Big Day for Curtin in 1-0 Black Bears Win
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Monongalia County Ballpark. But Chris Curtin conjured up just enough offense to carry the Black Bears past the Lowell Spinners, 1-0. Curtin threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. West Virginia now owns a record of 35-13.
Juan Caldera drove in one run against the Spinners. In the bottom of the first inning, he hit a sacrifice fly, putting West Virginia in front, 1-0.
"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Caldera.
