Mariners Nip Rangers, 4-3
|
The Seattle (AZL) Mariners turned back the Texas (AZL) Rangers, 4-3, at Peoria Sports Complex. Dave Bogle, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Seattle (AZL) reliever Jim Unknown got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Mrej Skalicka was tagged with the loss. With the victory, the Mariners record now stands at 6-15.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With two out, Bogle hit a fastball from Mrej Skalicka for a solo home run. The Mariners, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Bogle said.
