Late Magic Gets Seattle (AZL) 3-0 Win

Seattle (AZL) Mariners starter Steve Shepard was in fine form as he helped his team beat the Colorado (AZL) Rockies, 3-0. Seattle (AZL) reliever Mike Mayhew picked up the win, upping his record to 6-1. Nate Wade was saddled with the loss. Andy Stephens collected save number 5.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Jared Hower came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Colorado (AZL) pitcher Nate Wade, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Seattle (AZL) on top, 1-0.
Hower said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
With the win, Seattle (AZL) pushed its record to 23-16.
