Aberdeen Beats Mahoning Valley in Extra Innings
Aberdeen Ironbirds starter Juan Montemayor was in fine form against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers at Eastwood Field, leading his team to a win, 5-3. Aberdeen reliever Sergio Salazar was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Chris Postley took the loss. Al Knox finished the game for Aberdeen and earned his 6th save.

Aberdeen used the timely hitting of Sean Tarnacki to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Ironbirds on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said Montemayor.

With the win, Aberdeen has a record of 29-38. Mahoning Valley falls to 32-35.
