Browns Drop ValleyCats, 5-4, with Late Score
|
The Tri-City ValleyCats and New Orleans Browns provided some drama for the home crowd.
Despite a fine performance by second baseman Steve Carter, the Tri-City ValleyCats lost to the New Orleans Browns, 5-4. Carter was 3-4 with 3 singles. Kevin Marshall converted his 2nd save in 3 tries.
It could have been a different outcome for New Orleans, had it not been for Tim Mattson, the 23-year old catcher . Mattson contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put New Orleans up, 5-4.
"You can never predict what'll happen," Mattson said. "That's why you play the game."
New Orleans has now won 3 in a row.
