Dust Devils Stay Hot With 3-1 Win
|
The Tri-City Dust Devils defeated the Raleigh River Sharks, 3-1, in Northwest League action at Gesa Stadium. Tri-City pitcher Sergio Armenta had a standout performance. Armenta, now 6-2, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Tri-City is now 30-13.
The Dust Devils got a big hit from center fielder Luis Gallardo. In the bottom of the fifth, Gallardo pounded a run-scoring double to left. His 16th double of the season put the Dust Devils ahead, 3-1.
"It's fun coming to the ballpark," said Armenta, "when you're on this kind of roll."
