The Miami (GCL) Marlins easily defeated the Detroit (GCL) Tigers, 12-3, at Roger Dean Stadium, with center fielder Dave Manning a main contributor to the win. He went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 4 for Miami (GCL). Miami (GCL) now owns a record of 14-5.

With runs few and far between, the Marlins had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Miami (GCL) came in the bottom of the second inning, when left fielder Danny Thompson delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Jonathan Bacher and made the score 3-1, Marlins. Thompson was 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
