River Sharks Defeat Dust Devils, 7-4
The Raleigh River Sharks beat the Tri-City Dust Devils, 7-4, at River Sharks Ballpark. Raleigh right fielder Alain Leclerc had an outstanding performance. He was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Randy Aguilar, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-3. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The save went to Mike Winterstein, his 18th this season.

Raleigh designated hitter Juan Padilla contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a sinker into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 52nd hit of the season and put the River Sharks ahead, 4-1.

"This was a good win for us," said Leclerc. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."

The win puts Raleigh at 44-21 this season.
