Thrilling Victory Pushes Grasshoppers Win Streak to 5
|
Charleston got a big-time effort from pitcher Dan Williams, but it wasn't enough to keep the Greensboro Grasshoppers from winning the game, 7-4. Williams threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Brendan Richardson recorded his 13th save for Greensboro. The second-place Grasshoppers have won 5 consecutive games.
Eric Peddy dealt the RiverDogs a blow in the top of the ninth. Batting with the bases loaded and Greensboro leading 5-4, Peddy hit a 3-1 fastball for a 2-run single.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Peddy told the Greensboro Observer.
