The Omaha Hooks topped the Amarillo Sod Poodles, 7-6, in Texas League action at Hodgetown. The standout performance belonged to Omaha pitcher and Caracas, Venezuela, native Vitale Capellari. Chris Coogle got credit for the win, improving to 8-9. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in 2 innings. The Hooks move to 41-92 with the win, while the Sod Poodles drop to 62-71.

Omaha took the lead in the top of the ninth on a big hit from Mike Gilbeaux. On a 3-1 fastball from Rodolfo Wheeler, Gilbeaux hit a run-scoring single. That made it 7-6, Hooks. For the day, Gilbeaux was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
