The Northwest Arkansas Naturals defeated the Midland RockHounds, 7-4, in Texas League action at Security Bank Ballpark. Northwest Arkansas pitcher Bob Stevens had a standout performance. In 6.1 innings, Stevens surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. The first-place Naturals sport a record of 88-47.
Tim Chipman's at-bat in the top of the first inning was a big one for Northwest Arkansas. Coming to bat with two out, a runner on 2nd and Northwest Arkansas leading 1-0, the center fielder hit a 2-run home run.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Chipman told the Northwest Arkansas News.
