The Syracuse Mets earned a win at NBT Bank Stadium, stopping the Norfolk Tides, 4-2. Starting pitcher Dave Leix played a big role in his team's success. Leix got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Leix allowed 2 runs. Josh McAllister earned the save for Syracuse, his 26th of the year.

Syracuse took the lead in the bottom of the first on a big hit from Jim Tacey. On a 1-2 fastball from Dave Rotella, Tacey hit a 2-run home run. That made it 2-0, Mets. For the day, Tacey was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"I still think this team can play even better," Leix told the Syracuse Daily News.
