Quakes Bridle Giants, 2-1
|
In a well-pitched game between the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and the San Jose Giants, pitcher Nehemiah Boateng was fantastic. The Rancho Cucamonga right-hander helped his team secure the win, 2-1. Boateng went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 3-1. Dusty Foster earned the save for Rancho Cucamonga, his 14th.
Rancho Cucamonga took a 2-0 lead on Joel Parker's 25th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Parker hit in the bottom of the eighth, left San Jose pitcher Alfredo Esqueda visibly frustrated.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Parker.
Rancho Cucamonga goes to 83-49. The win puts them 9 games up in their division.
