Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Storm
The Lake Elsinore Storm got a stellar performance from pitcher Sergio Mata, who handcuffed the Las Vegas offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Lake Elsinore Diamond. Reliever Luis Matus picked up the win. His record improves to 4-8. Jonathan Melnick took the loss. Kevin Monahan got credit for the save for Lake Elsinore. It was his 4th of the year.

Zachariah Tibbits took Jonathan Melnick deep in the bottom of the eighth. His grand slam home run put the Storm on top, 4-2. In all, Tibbits had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Mata said. "That's how it goes."

The Storm, at 67-72, sit in last place in the South Division.
