With right fielder Juan Atempa leading the charge, the Wilmington Blue Rocks defeated the visiting Potomac Nationals, 10-3, in Game 2 of the Round 1 today. Atempa went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium to help Wilmington force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

Kikuo Shibata helped out the Wilmington cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the shortstop went 3-6 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Wilmington manager Carlos Mendoza said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 12th , 2037 at G. Richard Pfitzner Stadium in Woodbridge.
