Rosato Blasts Nationals, Blue Hens Take Game 2, 17-14
In a crucial game, the Memphis Blue Hens put on their best show, beating the Washington (GCL) Nationals by a final score of 17-14 today. Joe Rosato was 5-6 with a home run, a double, and 3 singles. He scored 4 times and drove in 4. Memphis and Washington (GCL) are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.

Tied up with the Nationals in the top of the fourth inning, the Blue Hens got a boost from pinch hitter Murdoch Lannigan. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Lannigan saw a 1-1 fastball from Kody Sams and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Memphis on top, 8-7.

"It's on me," said Nationals manager Matt LeCroy. "The guys I sent out there today were the wrong ones for the situation. I'll be sure to send the right ones out next time."

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Ballpark of Memphis in Memphis.
