Connecticut Breaks Through for First Win in Round 1; Now Trails 2-1
Already down in the Round 1, the Connecticut Tigers put on their best show, beating the Vermont Lake Monsters by a final score of 1-0 today. Pete Jones was special. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. Connecticut now trails Vermont 2-1 in the best-of-5 affair.

Art Probst was the walk-off hero for Connecticut. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Tigers pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I had everything working," said Jones.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium in Norwich.
